    The sharpnose sevengill shark (Heptranchias perlo), also known as one-finned shark, perlon shark, sevengill cow shark, sharpsnouted sevengill or slender sevengill, is a species of shark in the family Hexanchidae, and the only living species in the genus Heptranchias.
    The Sharpnose Sevengill Shark (Heptranchias perlo) is a small (to 140 cm total length) deep-water shark with a global yet patchy distribution in the Atlantic, including the Mediterranean Sea, and Indo-Pacific Oceans. It occurs in temperate and tropical waters off the continental and insular shelf and upper slope at depths of 0–1,000.
    The sharpnose sevengill shark (Heptranchias perlo) is a rare and poorly understood deep-sea species, with only a few records in the Adriatic Sea over the last two centuries and a significant gap in sightings. Throughout 2023, three new records are documented in the southernmost Adriatic Sea, found at depths ranging from 391 to 452 m off Vlorë.
