    Tomopterid polychaetes were collected during five oceano graphic cruises carried out off the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, western Caribbean Sea. Five species of the holoplanktic genus Tomopteris were recorded, increasing the number of Tomopteris species known from the Caribbean Sea to 7.
