    Species of limnomedusae live in brackish, fresh (one species), or marine environments. These medusae in the order Trachylina do not alternate generations but develop young medusae directly from planula larvae, or by asexual budding. The umbrella is often high, with stiff mesoglea and well-developed muscle fibers.
