Tentaculata is a class of comb jellies, one of two classes in the phylum Ctenophora. The common feature of this class is a pair of long, feathery, contractile tentacles, which can be retracted into specialised ciliated sheaths. In some species, the primary tentacles are reduced and they have smaller, secondary tentacles.

The phylum ctenophora is divided into two classes: Tentaculata and Nuda. They have tentacles and small stomodaeum. Examples: Hormiphora (The Sea Walnut), Pleurobrachia (The Sea gooseberry). Ctenoplana, Cestum (The Venus’ Girdle). Their body is without tentacles. They has spaceous mouth and stomodaeum. Example: Beroe.
The tentacles bear special adhesive cells, the lasso cells or colloblasts which help in food capture. The broad end called aboral pole, contains the anal canals, anal pores and a sense organ, the statocyst. The animal is hermaphrodite.
Direct evidence of dermatotrophy is, however, lacking. Bioassay-guided fractionation of the marine annelid worm Cirriformia tentaculata has led to the isolation of three 2-alkylpyrrole sulfamates 221–223.
