The common nase (Chondrostoma nasus) is a European potamodromous cyprinid fish. It is often simply called the nase, but that can refer to any species of its genus Chondrostoma. Another name is sneep.

Chondrostoma (from the Ancient Greek roots χόνδρος (khondros) 'lump' + στόμα (stoma) 'mouth' = 'lump-mouth') is a genus of ray-finned fish in the family Cyprinidae. They are commonly known as nases, although this term is also used locally to denote particular species, most frequently the common nase (C. nasus).

Descrizione È simile alla savetta ma ha il corpo in proporzione meno alto e meno compresso lateralmente. Come tutti i Chondrostoma ha la mascella sporgente a formare una sorta di "naso", da cui il nome comune. La livrea è grigio olivastra sul dorso per poi digradare verso il bianco argenteo sul ventre.

Die Nase (Chondrostoma nasus) ist ein Süßwasserfisch und kommt in Mitteleuropa nördlich der Alpen bis Osteuropa vor. Sie kann max. 50-60 cm lang und bis zu 2 kg schwer werden.
