Peachia cylindrica (Reid, 1848) Description: This burrowing sea anemone has an elongated column, which is sausage-shaped, with a rounded base, sometimes with adherent sand grains. There are 12 tentacles, long in extension (only when buried). From one angle of the mouth a small lobed projection (conchula) arises.

Unlike many other nonattached burrowing anemones Peachia cylindrica is rather robust species and may reach 30 cm long and 2.5cm diameter. Typically, only a disc with 12 characteristically coloured tentacles is visible on surface, while the whole body is buried deeply into the substratum.
