The mackerel scad (Decapterus macarellus), or speedo, is a species of fish of the family, Carangidae. While it can be considered gamefish, it is usually used as bait. It is popular for consumption in Hawai'i, the Philippines and the U.A.E. In Hawai'i, mackerel scad are called ʻopelu. In the Philippines they are called galunggong.

The Mackerel Scad, Decapterus macarellus, is a member of the Jack or Carangidae Family, that is known in Mexico as macarela caballa. There are twelve global members of the genus Decapteurs, o f which five are found in Mexican waters, two in the Atlantic, two in the Pacific, and one in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
