Hour­glass dol­phins, Lagenorhynchus cru­ciger, are a truly pelagic species of dol­phin. They are found through­out the south­ern oceans of the world and are cir­cum­po­lar in their dis­tri­b­u­tion. They range be­tween 43 de­grees south (S) and 67 de­grees S and are most often as­so­ci­ated near the Antarc­tic con­ver­gence.
