The dusky catshark (Bythaelurus canescens) is a catshark of the family Scyliorhinidae that is endemic to the southeast Pacific Ocean, off the coasts of Peru and Chile. It grows to a maximum length of 70 cm, and is oviparous like many other chondrichthyans in the Indo-Pacific.

The Dusky Catshark (Bythaelurus canescens) is a small shark (to at least 85 cm t otal length) which occurs off Peru and Chile in the Southeast Pacific. It is demer sal or bentho-pelagic on or over the upper continental slope at depths of 200–732 m. It is a regular b ycatch of deep-sea teleost and crustacean
