Chaetozone setosa is one of many early described species that have been recorded all over the world ( Chambers, 2000, Oug et al., 2014 ). The species was redescribed by Blake (2015), who concluded that C. setosa is restricted to Arctic and subarctic waters in Northern Europe.
Chaetozone setosa is common on muddy and gravel bottoms in the shallow sublittoral. Cylindrical body with 70-90 segments (chaetigers). Head bears pointed, eyeless prostomium. Stout, pointed chaetae towards the end of the body; latter chaetae almost encircle the entire segment. Gills on at least 20 initial segments.
Chaetozone setosa is restricted to the Arctic. Chaetozone, Chaetozone Chaetozone, Aphelochaeta, Dodecaceria, Cirriformia and Cirratulus Chaetozone, Dodecaceria and Cirratulus are recovered monophyletic. A total of 14 clusters of sequences – corresponding to species of Chaetozone Chaetozone setosa.
Morphology of Chaetozone The first round of morphological examinations revealed that the majority of specimens could be assigned to three species, all previously reported in the study area: Chaetozone setosa Malmgren, 1867, C. jubata Chambers and Woodham, 2003 and C. zetlandica McIntosh, 1911.
