The Rock Beauty Angelfish, scientifically known as Holacanthus tricolor, is a strikingly beautiful fish that can be found in the warm waters of the Western Atlantic Ocean. With its vibrant colors and distinct markings, this angelfish is highly sought after by aquarium enthusiasts and underwater photographers alike.

Holacanthus tricolor This easily recognizable reef fish is territorial, rarely leaving the small radius around its home area, and develops a long-term monogamous breeding relationship. It has a flat, oval black body with trailing black dorsal and anal fins (with yellow and orange margins), a yellow tail, and a yellow face with a black mouth.

Holacanthus tricolor is known under several names in English, such as Rocky Beauty Angelfish, Rock Beasty, Corn sugar, Coshubba, and Yellow Nanny. In addition to being kept by aquarists, this species is also marketed fresh as a food fish. Eating it has however been linked to ciguatera poisoning.
