Some scallops (family Pectinidae) are also cemented, but others lie on soft sediments in coastal waters and at abyssal depths.
All our data support the monophyly of all the ostreoidean families and most subfamilies in Ostreidae, except Ostreinae. The phylogenetic relationship of oysters that obtained in this study ( Fig. 2) were consistent with those reported by Salvi and Mariottini (2016).
Lopha -like oysters such as Umbrostrea Hautmann, 2001 and Nacrolopha Carter & Malchus, 2011 present in the Triassic were identified as the most primitive taxa of Ostreidae ( Carter, 2011, Hautmann, 2001, Hautmann and Hagdorn, 2013 ).
