In this paper, a fossil fish Bregmaceros? sp. (Thompson, 1840) (Gadiformes, Bregmacerotidae) is described from the Fırat Formation (Early Miocene: Aquitanian-Burdigalian) of Diyarbakır, Southeast Turkey. The fossil specimen is the f irst record from Turkey.
